Smoking Areas at Portland Airport (PDX)

Portland International Airport (PDX) maintains a strict no-smoking policy indoors, prohibiting cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and vaping devices throughout the terminal, including concourses, restrooms, and dining areas. Oregon state law also bans smoking within 10 feet of terminal entrances, exits, windows, and air intakes to ensure clean air.

Where to Smoke:

Outdoor Zones: Designated smoking areas are located outside the terminal, beyond the 10-foot boundary, near ticket counters (Level 2) and baggage claim (Level 1). A key spot is outside Door 5 on the arrivals level, south side, marked by clear “Smoking Area” signs and equipped with ashtrays.

PDX offers no indoor smoking lounges, reflecting its commitment to a fully smoke-free terminal and Oregon’s clean air priorities.
