Smoking Areas – Ted Stevens Anchorage Airport (ANC)

Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) upholds a stringent no-smoking policy across all indoor spaces of the South (domestic) and North (international) terminals, banning cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and vaping devices in concourses, restrooms, and dining areas. Alaska law further prohibits smoking within 25 feet of terminal entrances/exits to ensure fresh air.

North Terminal:

Outdoor Zone: A designated smoking area is located across from Door 4 on the commercial curb, past the 25-foot boundary, marked by clear “Smoking Area” signs with ashtrays.

Indoor Option: A unique indoor smoking lounge is available post-security near Gate N8, offering a ventilated space for cigarettes and vaping.

South Terminal:

Outdoor Zone: Smoking is permitted in designated areas along the commercial curb, notably near the baggage claim exit on Level 1, beyond the 25-foot boundary. Signs and ashtrays guide smokers to these spots.
