Airport (DFW) operates under a completely smoke-free indoor policy, banning cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and vaping devices across all terminals, including gate areas, lounges, restrooms, and restaurants.
Designated Outdoor Smoking Areas – Pre-Security Only:
- Smoking is allowed only in marked outdoor zones located outside each terminal, before entering the TSA security checkpoints. In compliance with Texas regulations, these areas are set at least 25 feet away from entrances and ventilation systems.
- Terminals A, B, C, D, and E: Each terminal features clearly signed curbside smoking areas near the baggage claim and drop-off zones. Ashtrays are provided for proper waste disposal.
DFW does not offer any indoor or post-security smoking lounges.
If you step outside to smoke, you must complete TSA screening again to re-enter the secure area.
Smoking in non-designated locations can result in fines or airport enforcement actions.
DFW appreciates your cooperation in keeping the airport clean, smoke-free indoors, and comfortable for all passengers.
